Please help us welcome Dr. Amy Lather, the new Assistant Professor of Classical Languages!

Dr Lather joins the department from the University of Texas, where she completed her PhD with a dissertation entitled, “Sense and Sensibility: The Experience of Poikilia in Archaic and Classical Greek Thought.” Her research focuses on Greek poetry of the 7th-5th centuries BCE, and she is particularly interested in ancient aesthetics, music, perception, and cognition. Dr Lather‘s teaching has recently been devoted to Greek language, civilization, and culture, but she has been known to delve into Latin literature, as well.
